Don’t worry about the results

16 At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. 2 Timothy 4:16

We are part of the BOTTOM LINE Society. The results matter no matter what industry. Business wants to be profitable at the end of the year. An athlete wants to be champion, and we measure the greatness of people by their achievements. All is forgotten in sports if the end result is a trophy. You can cut corners as long as you show a profit. We are part of this society, and this kind of thinking creeps into our mindset as well. Today I like to ask you a question, have you become RESULT ORIENTED Christian? How do you determine the success of your church? Your ministry? We are programmed to think numbers matter. We base success on membership, attendance, for sure the amount of collections. And, some of these numbers are good indicators but is there where our focus should be? Does it really matter? Let me draw your attention to 2 men, one our savior and the other perhaps the greatest evanglist ever. Paul planted so many churches. He had a deep concern for them, but as you read the above verse, he was alone at the end. Jesus had massive crowds following Him; thousands were going from town to town, thousands healed, but as He is hanging on the cross, there are four people there with Him. All others have disappeared. By the world’s standard, they were failures. There was no vast following, one in prison and the other hanging on the cross. There were no trophies, no possessions, but both did what GOD commended. Jesus laid his life for our sins, and Paul was told to suffer for Christ and to spread the Gospel, and both fulfilled their task till the end. The only result we should be concerned about is, AM I WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST? How many people come to Christ because of you is irrelevant because only God saves, you are just an instrument He uses. Paul did not know how many people he was going to bring to Christ; he just shared Christ and never worried about the results. Let us focus on our walk with Christ, and results will take care of itself. Amen
