True Identity

Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. Exodus 1:8

Joseph lived an exemplary life. He not only saved Egypt from famine but also filled up Egypt’s treasury with wealth during the time of famine.  He had everything the world tells us to strive for. He had wealth, power, position, influence, respect, security. He was on the top of the world. If he were alive today, we would see him being interviewed on TV, and people would follow his advice on management. There would be numerous articles written about him. BUT, as we read in verse only a couple of generations later, he is forgotten.  My friends, things we go so crazy after are like a vapor, they disappear in a blink of an eye. Those of us who are followers of Christ, know Joseph but not for his wealth, power, position, etc. but rather for his obedience, faithful walk, for how he dealt with temptation and forgiveness. He obeyed God to prison. He did not sin against God, and when he had a chance to take revenge on his brother, he chose to forgive. What is your legacy? What are people going to remember you by? How many of us remember our great-grandparents? I guarantee you not many. It is 2 generation, and we are forgotten unless we teach our children how to walk like Joseph. So as we get ready to celebrate Christmas, let us give the greatest gift to our Savior by walking in obedience & faith, and I urge you if there is someone who has done wrong to you, JUST FORGIVE.
