Provision and Protection

He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.
Genesis 12:16 NKJV
Many times, we look at possessions as blessings from God as a sign of approval from God and fruits of our obedience. But, is that Biblical definition of blessing? Abram obeyed God and left his home to go to promised land. Like Abrams, so many of us have put our faith in Jesus & have been “born again.” But do we trust God to meet all our needs now that we have decided to walk in faith, or like Abram, we leave the promised land at first sign of trouble? Famine hit the land, and Abram went down to Egypt. He did not trust God for provision. He solved a problem on his own. Once he entered Egypt, he realized the dangers he faced, and he figured out a solution for his safety. Now, if you read the above verse, it seems things are working out well. Not only does he have food & and a favor of king, he has also gained more wealth. It seems like God is blessing him, but in reality, he had disobeyed God and created a problem that plagues us until today. We all need provisions & protection in our lives. We serve a mighty God. He is more than able to provide for us. Let us not look for our own solutions like Abram and certainly do not look at wordily success as a sign of approval of your decisions from God. Trust God to provide you with provision & protection. Amen
