“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, every male individually, from twenty years old and above—all who are able to go to war in Israel.
Numbers 1:2-3 NKJV
Moses led the Israelite out of Egypt and for over a year they are in the wilderness. They were in slavery for over 400 years. God asks Moses to do a census, and the primary purpose was to establish an army. Why? They were in the middle of nowhere, they had no territory to defend nor did they have any enemies. You see God was preparing them for a war & battles that were coming. This is a great encouragement for us, not only does God brings us out of slavery but then he prepares us for the storms & battles that are coming. He took us all out of slavery to SIN, and as we walk with him, He is preparing us for spiritual storms that are on the horizon. We don’t even know the problems that are coming tomorrow, a month from now, a year from now and when it comes, we tend to say, how can God do this? How come He was not watching over me? How did He let this happen? But in reality, He has been preparing you, and victory is yours as long as you obey and trust Him. As you go through the storms, He is teaching you how to walk in faith. This week I received some news which blindsided me and my first thought was I been praying, and instead of providing, something opposite happened. But, when I thought about it, God was preparing me for what was coming. You see, I had a fellow believer who shared teaching and another person who shared a verse, God directed me to a portion of scripture which deals with worry & anxiety, so when I look back, I found comfort in those words. As you walk in faith, there will be Storms, trial, & battles along the way BUT be assured; God is preparing you for victory over all of them Amen.
