Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ,
I Thessalonians 3:2a NKJV
Timothy was like a son to Paul. He trained & taught Timothy, But here Paul calls him, Brother, minister of God and fellow laborer. We need to learn this humbleness. When we work for God, no matter how old you are, how long you been serving God, what position you are in (Pastor, decon Etc), it does not matter. We are all in same position. There is no rank or office. We are all equal. He calls him brother because we all have one father in heaven. As a laborer we all have one master so there no one else we serve. This is our relationship with each other. Humble yourself because God hates proud heart. John shows same humbleness in Revelation 1:9, he could have listed all his qualification as an apostle, writer of Gospel, only disciple alive but he chose to say Brother & companion. Let’s not strive for titles such as Rev or Dr. in front of our name rather be humble and work to be Brother, Laborer, and Minister of God. May God continue to bless you, use you and strengthen you all brothers and fellow laborer.Amen
