If you are a pastor,thinking of going into ministry or if you happen to be involved in your local church administration, it will do you well to study Paul’s letter to Timothy & Titus. Here Paul gives a list of 6 attributes that a Godly believer must have. word: Are you scripturally sound? do you believe it to be the word of God? All of it not just in part? conduct: does your behavior reflect the scripture? Love: Do you genuinely love others regardless of their faith,color, ethnicity,gender? Bible says they will know you by the love you have for each other.Do you love those who don’t like you even persecute you? spirit: are you walking according to the leading of the spirit? or are you doing your own thing? are you seeking the direction of the spirit? faith: Bible says it is impossible to please God without the faith. Do you have faith in what you preach, teach, read & listen to? purity : This talks about our sexual behavior. Paul says earlier, how leaders should lead life of purity, be husband of 1 wife. when Paul wrote the letter, most men had 2-3 women besides their wife. Today, we may not have that but we have pornography. It will do you well to examine your walk in Christ and see how you are doing in these 6 areas. Most of you reading this are not pastors but please self examine and if you are falling short, pray to God and he will forgive, direct your path and will give you strength to make corrections. Amen
