Last week, we talked about options, how our life is full of choices. These mostly have to do with our day to day needs such as food, transportation, clothing, entertainment, Etc. We might think this is an issue of today, but as far back as Genesis, We see that people wanted another choice besides God. Throughout history, people have tried to create an alternative way to fulfill their spiritual needs. And, Satan has helped them to create all sort of religions to do that. Satan presents theses choices as a similar way of going to heaven. Humankind tends to create a God to fit his needs instead of just accepting God’s way.
Cain bought a sacrifice that he thought was appropriate, ignoring the requirements set forth by God. Soul decided to perform duties set aside for a priest. Today man worship all kind of gods created by their limited knowledge and presented as EQUAL to God’s way, Jesus. Satan will tell you to follow religion and say look at all the options you have, pick one, they are all the same. After all, “there is one God” you see he always throws is a bit of truth to misguide you. Satan is not against religion; he is against Jesus. So he will tell you there is one God but do all in his power to keep you from doing His will and following His way, Jesus. Many will say, this is very narrowed minded thinking, don’t say your way is the only way. All I will say to that is, I am not saying it, Jesus declared it. I don’t know about you, but I am not going to argue with God and say, “You are wrong.” Understanding our stupidity and our tendencies, God made it very simple. No other so-called gods, said I am the way. Krishna did not say it, Muhammed did not say it, buddha did not say it. They all talk about here is the way, or this is how you should go, but Jesus declared, ” I am the way and truth.” Jesus does not merely teach the way or point to the way; He is the way. Matter a fact, the early Christian were called the way. What a blessing to have the assurance of heaven at the end of the journey. No other spiritual path offers you this but Jesus. Since there is only one creator, there is only one option if you want to get to heaven. He gave His only son so we may have life eternal and Jesus is the ONLY way not because some priest tells you or a church tells but because God said it. You don’t need to follow a set of rules and do’s and don’t to make it. There is no checks and balance of your good deeds and evil deeds. There is no religion ( including Christianity) that will assure you eternal life. Any road directions are only useful if you follow them. If you choose to ignore the instructions of your navigation system, you will be driving in a circle. God has given clear directions to Him. Won’t you follow them today? You may find thousands of issues with the church, with other Christians, with pastors but you will find nothing with Jesus to turn you away. He is calling you. He is your only option if you want to go to heaven. If hell is your destination, you have unlimited choices. Choose wisely.
